Bernardo Silva ‘REJECTS moving to Tottenham as part of Harry Kane deal
According to reports, Bernardo Silva stressed to Manchester City that there is no interest in him being part of any possible part-exchange deal with Harry Kane, Tottenham’s striker.
City, Premier League champions, are determined to sign Kane but the high price tag of about PS150million has proven a major hurdle. They are now believed to have added Silva to the deal.
According to the Athletic, chairman Daniel Levy rejected the proposal. Silva preferred a move to Spain. Super-agent Jorge Mendes was in Manchester this week to try and solve the problem.
City spent a lot to sign Jack Grealish, Aston Villa’s star player, in a stunning PS100m deal. Sportsmail reported that the club believes Kane can only be signed if the price is lower or Silva is brought on by Spurs.
According to Pep Guardiola Playmaker Silva is one of the Etihad’s first-team players who are looking for moves abroad. His opportunities to play have been cut by Grealish’s arrival.
Silva, a former Monaco man, will be allowed out if they get a good bid. However, new developments have shown that he won’t be going to Tottenham to help Kane make his big-money switch.
According to the same report, Silva was also included in City’s original offer for Kane earlier in summer. Spurs are reported to have been told by the club that they would have their pick of five other players who were keen to leave.
Mendes, who represents Nuno Espirito Sante and was also Jose Mourinho’s former boss, believed that Tottenham would be open for Silva to be bought, but it failed to gain traction, with Silva himself refusing to sign.
Although Silva was in contact with City to resolve his situation, it is reported that Mendes still wants to pitch the idea of Cristiano Rojo joining the club. According to reports, Ronaldo wants to leave Juventus during this window.
