Man United-linked Goretzka agrees new Bayern contract
Goal and Spox confirm that Leon Goretzka has signed a new contract to Bayern Munich. The Germany international will bring unwanted exit talk to the Allianz Arena.
As his current deal expires in 2022, questions are being raised about the future of the Germany international. However, speculation has suggested that Manchester United, a Premier League giant, might be one of his suitors.
Bavaria has negotiated new terms and the highly-rated 26 year-old midfielder won’t be leaving anytime soon.
Bayern are believed to have all the necessary conditions for Goretzka’s signing of his new contract.
There are still a few details to iron out but the pen will soon be on paper.
A long-term agreement is on the table, worth between 12 and 15 million euros (PS10m/$14m-PS13m/$18m) a year, with it expected that Goretzka’s services will be retained through to the summer of 2026.
When it comes to negotiations with Goretzka, Bayern has always been confident.
However, they were keen to emphasize that they would not be held hostage by anyone in contract negotiations.
When asked about Joshua Kimmich and Goretzka, the Club president Herbert Hainer stated that they would not be retained at any price.
Bayern’s players are aware of the benefits they receive, and everyone is paid their salaries. They can win titles now and in the future with us.
Julian Nagelsmann, Bayern boss, said during a question and answer session about Goretzka: “Ofcourse I have spoken to him about what my plans are for him. I told him that I was happy if he extended my contract and that I am also confident.
“When it comes to discussing a contract renewal, there are many topics.
“I will continue to concentrate on the sport side of things and show him that he can be one the most dangerous midfielders of Europe. He can do even more.”
